Potts Farm:: Horsin' Around

He's jabbering. I promise he LOVED it. Whitaker had no idea he was on an 2 ton animal.

see!?!?

safety first.

Sarah was so proud that Kwilai wasn't the least bit scared.

Potts Farm:: Oh, Baby.

There is nothing better than experiencing a "first" with a little one. First time on a tractor, first time on a horse, first time on a hammock, first time in the hay, first time time on a farm...

Thanks babies.

Potts Farm:: Cows or Bust

Friday we ventured over to the neighbors farm to visit the cows. Granted, heading just next door entails more than walking down the driveway. It's more like a half mile down the road. So we saddled the kids up in one of Sarah's wagon and headed west, um- I mean, to the neighbors. (of course we took a few pictures along the way)

This is a picture of Kwilai 'moo-ing'. These babydoll (excuse me, Steer) cows were adorable. Stinky, but adorable.

Potts Farm:: Home Grown

This past weekend we had a mini family reunion at my cousin Sarah's farm outside of Lima, Oh. Before Ilse and I even unloaded our luggage, we made a b-line for the garden! Tomatoes, potatoes and green beans galore!
How many people can say they have a produce aisle in their backyard? Saturday night Ilse and I dug up carrots and potatoes for dinner. It was surreal for us city folk. Talk about fresh.

...and these bad boys made their way to mom's stove top and have finally finished cooking down to a delicious tomato puree. They are now bound for the spaghetti sauce!

mini vaca:: cliffside keep part II

We had an awesome weekend at Joel's Great Uncle and Aunt's cottage off of Lake Erie. So reminiscent of Goldilocks and the 3 bears, don't you think? A first timer to the lake was Ruger, one gorgeous and energetic dog!
Of course the really important people were Joel's cousin Brian and his girlfriend, Michelle. Ruger's Parents. Joel got a lesson on parent to parent etiquette. i.e. You follow the other parents rules when it comes to their kids, such as NO feeding Ruger at the table, JOEL!!!
This is daddy-o taking a picture. No faces. Just point and shoot. literally. I'm going to regret having very few Mamma-mia pictures with Whitaker.
This is Great Aunt Doris singing Whitaker a french lullaby (for which she forgot the words to). He just sat still and stared. I'm so glad I caught this on camera.
What's vacation without a bath in the sink.A back pack plus beach equals GREAT idea!

beach feet!

the beach

Whitaker's first time putting his toes in the sand.
Our Popeye the Sailor Man.
The suit and hat were at the cottage and a must-wear for all beach newbies.

Joel's Great Uncle and Aunt have an adorable cottage off of Lake Erie that we had the chance to visit this past weekend. It was the best 36 hour vacation we have taken, complete with a huge breakfast each morning!!! Whitaker got the chance to put his toes in the sand for the very first time. The bathing suit and hat were from when U.A and A.D. grandkids were pint size. It was such a beautiful place and we can't wait to go back (and hopefully have warmer weather!)
