6 months going on 7

A Belated Happy Easter! The Easter Bunny paid our front yard a visit and we had a blast watching big cousin Kwilai search for all the eggs. Just wait Whit, next year you'll be able to join the egg hunt scramble.
I'm not the mom to enter her child into a photo contest, but heck, money's short and Whitaker is ADORABLE. It' tempting. {this is his hat for next winter, compliments of an unbeatable sale at lands end}.
The Faux-hawk is still in full effect. I think it's here to stay.
Whitaker has finally discovered another way to get on his tummy from sitting up other than simply falling over. *Kr-Plunk* He leans over and half crawls his way down to his tummy. Next step: Actually Crawling!
Whitaker officially has 7 teeth, so I decided it wouldn't hurt to introduce a sippy cup. His independent streak came through and he loves holding it all by himself. Unfortunately the celebration was short lived, as he won't take any formula, only water.
We've come to the point where you can't leave Whitaker out of your sight. (even if you're only going back an forth between rooms putting laundry away). the kid grabbed the chair and pulled it down upon himself. twice. good gracious he's way to strong for his own good. no one was hurt. actually Whitaker was quite proud of himself. i guess this means mom and dad have to do a 'baby proof' overhaul to the house.tonight.

tiny tots

Whitaker and I recently took a road trip to Maryland to visit some friends. It was great to reconnect and to see how their own little ones have grown. Of course, if they were 2 months younger or 2 weeks older it didn't matter, Whitaker still towered over both of them. We definitly have a social butterfly, Whitaker played the part of the jolly green giant just perfectly. :P

gone to the dogs

most folks who know me, know i have a healthy respect for dogs- mainly if they are outside in a large fenced yard busy doing other things than getting their hair all over my black pants. but. i thought these pet portraits that Hollyce creates were amazing. this tiger's name is sansom.

bringing height in to question

Joel's Great Uncle and Aunt dropped in last week and I finally was able get a picture that documented where Whitaker's height could have come from. My dad has even made nervous comments about just how big Whit is, and if he's gonna be "ok." A friend told me that Hulk Hogan was only 10 lbs. 7 oz. when he was born and that she's betting he'll be the next WWF champ. John (my brother) let me know with all the seriousness he could muster, that it would be pretty cool if Whitaker actually did become a wide receiver for a big ten school and even play pro. Quite frankly, I'm just happy he's healthy and developing right on schedule, especially in regards to his motor skills. The kid can now roll both ways, back to tummy and vice versa and manages to twist, shout and roll his way across the living room. He's sitting up and grabs anything that is within reach (and if it's not, he finds a way to wiggle to get it).
It's hard to believe that he 6 months old today. Where did the time go?
Happy 1/2 Birthday Whitaker!

my abc's

I have this thing for alphabet prints. Until the day I can afford to splurge on every one I fall in love with, I continue to day dream while browsing etsy.com. I guess I should try my hand at making some of my own for Whitaker. umm.
