tear drops

it's the same reason why i still watch 'steel magnolias' even though i still know exactly when i'm gonna fall apart and hide behind the pillow on the couch. the build up starts when they turn off Shelby's life support, and the levies break when M'lynn falls apart at the cemetery. i haven't watched the move in quite awhile, but its playing in my head perfectly.
A good cry is cleansing. When words won't come and you know you need a release.

So, if you need to feel or a need a release, read these. they're real life moms who just like M'lynn fought and are still fighting for their babies.

my earth day

due to some serious napping on whitaker's part i was not only able to get chores done around the house today , but also have some 'creative me time'. (and chit chat with one of my bestest buddies. it was a great day).
i peridocially get emails from http://www.craftystylish.com/ with some awesome craft/sewing ideas. the most recent had an article about how to make a big eyed owl crinkle baby toy. the kick was to REUSE empty wipe refill packs as to add some 'crinkle' when you filled it with stuffing. lucky me i had all the supplies to make one. happy earth day.

happy 7 month birthday Whitaker

3's an awfully big number

So big in fact, that it's hard to get three people to smile at the same time. but, we tried.

great grandbabies

Whitaker met Grama Great this past weekend for the very first time.
Oh, how we love her.

6 months going on 7

A Belated Happy Easter! The Easter Bunny paid our front yard a visit and we had a blast watching big cousin Kwilai search for all the eggs. Just wait Whit, next year you'll be able to join the egg hunt scramble.
I'm not the mom to enter her child into a photo contest, but heck, money's short and Whitaker is ADORABLE. It' tempting. {this is his hat for next winter, compliments of an unbeatable sale at lands end}.
The Faux-hawk is still in full effect. I think it's here to stay.
Whitaker has finally discovered another way to get on his tummy from sitting up other than simply falling over. *Kr-Plunk* He leans over and half crawls his way down to his tummy. Next step: Actually Crawling!
Whitaker officially has 7 teeth, so I decided it wouldn't hurt to introduce a sippy cup. His independent streak came through and he loves holding it all by himself. Unfortunately the celebration was short lived, as he won't take any formula, only water.
We've come to the point where you can't leave Whitaker out of your sight. (even if you're only going back an forth between rooms putting laundry away). the kid grabbed the chair and pulled it down upon himself. twice. good gracious he's way to strong for his own good. no one was hurt. actually Whitaker was quite proud of himself. i guess this means mom and dad have to do a 'baby proof' overhaul to the house.tonight.

tiny tots

Whitaker and I recently took a road trip to Maryland to visit some friends. It was great to reconnect and to see how their own little ones have grown. Of course, if they were 2 months younger or 2 weeks older it didn't matter, Whitaker still towered over both of them. We definitly have a social butterfly, Whitaker played the part of the jolly green giant just perfectly. :P
